History of Absinthe

-- By  Bonnie Weinhold in  Pennsylvania on Tue, 26 Jun 2012 at 00:37.

I heard a lot about Absinthe when I was a kid growing up in the South. I believe it was a little more commonly "used" as a home remedy or possibly referred to as that. At any rate, it was a part of our culture though not a common part; more secretive. Very interesting!

The history of the absinthe drink is as fascinating as the taste of the emerald green liquor. This promotional poster for Absinthe Bourgeois is from the age of the first absinthe fever.
